Two men who worked for the SCDOT were killed while working on the side of the road in upstate South Carolina.

A driver missed one worker but then hit two men, killing them.

The driver who was later identified as Lonnie Miller left the scene and attempted to hide his vehicle.

South Carolina Highway Patrol as well as OSHA are investigating the accident. Anytime there is a work accident, OSHA investigates to see if there were any violations that contributed to the crash. This procedure is standard in any workplace accident.

Because the men were killed in a work accident, worker's compensation will come into affect after the investigation.
