On May 12, 2011 The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall of Maclaren single and double umbrella strollers that were sold prior to November 2009. Maclaren has received over 149 incident reports about this product.

The strollers were originally recalled in 2009 and they were able to be repaired. However, since the first recall, Maclaren has reported another 37 injuries have occured; including 5 more fingertip amputations, 16 additional lacerations, and 16 fingertip entrapments/bruising.

A free repair kit is available to correct the problem for strollers sold before November 2009. Any strollers sold after May 2010 have a different hinge design and are not effected by the recall.
