A Roanoke, Virginia native, Madi grew up in both Virginia and the Carolinas before settling in Charleston in 2014. She earned her Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies from Trident Technical College in 2019. Before joining Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers, Madi spent several years in the Public Client Group at one of the nation's largest plaintiffs' litigation firms. There, she worked on various State lawsuits and Federal MDLs related to manufacturers, distributors, and dispensers of opioid products, as well as legal matters concerning the September 11th terrorist attacks. Working in this dynamic and fast-paced trial environment helped her develop a solid foundation of investigative skills and taught her the importance of utilizing innovative technology.
Madi has been with Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers since 2021. She serves as the firm’s AI Integrations Manager and leader of the Investigations & Coverage Department. In her role as AI Integrations Manager, she collaborates with the management team and firm staff to identify potential use cases for artificial intelligence and automation. She also pioneers the implementation of new AI tools and technologies into both case work and business operations, all with the goal of providing 5-star representation for clients. As the leader of the Investigations & Coverage Department, Madi leads her team in gathering all available evidence, conducting thorough investigations, and staying current with the latest investigative resources and methods to support our clients in their pursuit of justice.
Outside of the office, Madi has been an active member of the Charleston Association of Legal Assistants (CALA) since for several years. Since 2024, she has proudly served on the Executive Committee as Chair of Social Media, Education, and Membership, where she actively promotes cutting-edge educational resources and professional networking opportunities for non-lawyer legal professionals in the Lowcountry area. She has also previously been involved in the North Carolina Teen Court Association while living in Alamance County, North Carolina.
In her free time, Madi enjoys reading and writing speculative fiction and listening to music; you will often find her with headphones on, listening to movie scores. She also loves cooking, traveling, spending time with family, and doting on her four cats.
