When a person serves on a civil court jury, the constitution gives them the power to control conduct in their community. It allows a person to set standards and make sure wrongdoers are held accountable for the consequences of their actions. The opinions of those on a jury are very important and can set standards for the future regarding a variety of circumstances.
The Derrick Law Firm holds jury research focus groups, or mock juries, to determine what a potential Horry County jury might say or do regarding the facts of our cases. This is a unique service provided to our clients and is hosted in our jury room at the Conway office.
Focus groups are selected to closely mimic the demographics of Horry County in order to provide a realistic idea of how a jury might rule on each case.
