A 25-year-old woman was killed in a fatal car accident in Longs last Thursday evening. Authorities say that the accident happened a little after 5 pm on East Highway 9 in front of the Aberdeen Country Club. Reports say that a 1994 Thunderbird was driving west crossing over Highway 9 when it was struck on the left side of by a 2013 Ford Explorer traveling on SC 9. The driver and passenger of the Explorer were both wearing seat belts however the driver was still transported to the hospital. The driver of the Thunderbird was wearing a seat belt but was unfortunately killed in the accident. The two of the passengers in the Thunderbird were children and were transported to the hospital, and a third passenger was flown to MUSC. The victim was identified as Nicole McMurray. Police conducted an investigation into the accident.
