Woman Hits 2 Firefighters, Charged with DUI

Two firefighters were injured in Goose Creek early Wednesday morning after being hit by a car while working the scene of another accident. The driver, Jessica Lanier, drove her 2011 Mazda through the scene of a single car accident as the medic unit was checking on the patients. The two firefighters were wearing reflective gear and were walking towards an emergency vehicle when Lanier struck them. One firefighter suffered a fractured left ankle and the other had a fractured left leg. They were both taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.

Lanier was charged with DUI in the accident.
