Woman Charged with DUI After Driving Wrong Way on I-26

The South Carolina Highway Patrol stopped a car driving the wrong way on I-26 on Wednesday near St. Andrews in Lexington County. Vanessa Clark of Ladson was charged with DUI when she got on the interstate travelling east in the westbound lanes. Another vehicle was run off the road to avoid a head on collision. The police were able to force her to stop near mile marker 106 and no injuries were reported.

The highway patrol has kicked off a new safety campaign for the holidays targeting impaired drivers.
