Woman Arrested After Chase and Shooting, Ended in Fatal Car Accident
Police have stated that a Florence County woman has been arrested after a shooting and a car accident that was a result of a domestic dispute. The car accident occurred around 7 am Thursday at the intersection of Freedom Blvd. and National Cemetery Road. Police say that a chase began between a Chevy Impala and white Honda Accord on East National Cemetery Road which was a continuation of a domestic dispute from the previous night. The driver of Honda was shooting at the occupants in the other vehicle during the chase and the Impala entered the intersection of Freedom Blvd. and National Cemetery Road trying to escape. The Impala struck a Camero and killed the driver.
The deceased, Lori M. Pruett, 36, had the right of way in the intersection and was not involved in the dispute with the other two cars. The two people in the Impala were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. the driver of the Honda fled the scene but was later arrested by the police. Officers charged Georgia Woodberry, 29, with murder, two counts of attempted murder, and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle. Woodberry remains in jail and police have asked for witnesses of the accident to come forward if they have any information.
