Traffic Stop in Loris Leads to Police Chase and Crash

A traffic stop in Loris on Saturday led to a high speed chase and collision. According to reports, an officer witnessed a car speeding down Broad Street. The officer turned onto highway 701 and attempted to stop the speeding car. A chase followed all the way into Holly Hill. The suspect locked up the brakes on his car which caused the police cruiser to slide into the suspects car overturning it. The suspect, 28-year-old Quinten Jermaine Nesmith, was arrested and charged with failure to stop for blue lights.
The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
