Teen Boy Identified afer Fatal Moped Wreck

A teenage boy who was the passenger on a moped was killed in a head-on collision with a car on Sunday afternoon in York County. The accident happened around 5:04 P.M. on Porter Road. According to the Highway Patrol, Bryan Stewart, 35, was operating a 2008 moped and was traveling east on Porter Road when he crossed the center line and crashed head-on with a 4-door Honda Civic. Akeem Stewart, 17, who was the passenger on the moped, was thrown from the moped and died at the scene. Neither of the people in the car were hurt in the accident.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol's Major Incident Team is investigating the accident.
