Sunday Morning Crash in North Myrtle Beach

Sunday morning, around 5:30am, a car hit several utility poles along Highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach.

The wreck was so severe that it took over an hour for North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue to cut someone out of the vehicle. One person was out of the car when crews arrived but both passengers were taken to a local trauma center for evaluation.

All northbound lanes on Highway 17 were blocked for several hours.
