Last Thursday morning, around 4:30am, in North Myrtle Beach, an officer found a white Ford van stopped at an intersection with both the driver and a passenger passed out inside.
The officer attempted to wake the driver who's foot was on the brake but was unable to do so. He also attempted to wake the passenger and get him to put the van in park but the passenger was unable to do so before passing out again.
The officer then tried to steer the van off the highway but lost control and the van strayed across several lanes of traffic before hitting an oncoming truck. The van continued to roll and went off the highway, hitting a utility pole and stopping in an embankment.
Both men were removed from the vehicle and the driver was arrested for several charges including DUI.
