Three years ago, Horry County received 13 new fire trucks and soon after, 5 of the trucks had mechanical issues so severe that the trucks were taken out of service.
Horry County Fire Rescue Chief decided to leave the former contractor, and look to a different company to help replace other aging trucks. The contractor, Pierce, fit the bill and this year, 8 new trucks have been added to the fleet. One ladder truck will be arriving soon.
Fire Chief, Joseph Tanner, says the new trucks are working well and are in service across the county. He hope to keep these emergency vehicles maintained and up to date to keep costs and other maintenance low over the years.
Because these trucks arrive at the scene of many kinds of accidents, it is important that they work well and are reliable for our first responders.
Car accidents and other injuries often warrant a fire truck at the scene.
With the summer traffic increases, more auto accidents are likely to occur. If you become seriously injured in a car accident, you may need legal help to get your medical bills paid.
