Myrtle Beach Traffic Post Eclipse

Posted on Aug 22, 2017

Monday, August 21, 2017 hosted the solar eclipse of the century in America. Thousands of people traveled to the areas where the solar eclipse would be in totality to see the maximum effects.

For South Carolina, the beach areas near Myrtle Beach, Georgetown, and Charleston received much traffic and congestion. Reports from www.wmbf.com stated that congestion was 13 miles long and the average speed was about 10mph through Georgetown County.

Traffic was heaviest along Highway 17 between Georgetown and Murrells Inlet, SC.

While people sacrificed time and money to see the eclipse, it was an event that may never happen again in our lifetime.

The Derrick Law Firm staff was excited to experience the eclipse and is always excited to serve the community in the event of a personal injury.
