Myrtle Beach Motorcycle Accident Kills Biker

Posted on Oct 11, 2017

The Myrtle Beach Fall Bike Rally was this past weekend and many bikers came out to the Grand Strand to ride and to check out the vendors associated with the event.

While most Harley Davidson riders gathered in the Murrells Inlet area of the beach, others traveled north to the Atlantic Beach area along Highway 17.

The weekend seemed to be relatively quiet for Myrtle Beach however there were some accidents including a fatal motorcycle accident near Atlantic Beach. A man from NC was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle when a minivan failed to yield the right of way and hit him.

He was thrown from his bike, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol, and was not wearing a helmet. The NC man was taken to Grand Strand Regional Hospital where he later passed from multiple traumas.

The beach is a great place for bikers to ride but everyone on the road must look out for others. This included bikers make smart moves and car drivers watching for bikers.

Some of the most common accidents are ones that can be avoided.

Slow down, pay attention, and look out for others. #ridesafe
