The incident occured around 1:30 A.M. on Woodside Avenue, said Captain David Knipes of the Myrtle Beach Police Department. He also stated that the vehicle was travelling northbound at a high rate of speed when the incident occured. Capt. Knipes said that James was not wearing his seat belt.
An autopsy was planned for later in the day Friday, and an investigation in the accident is still ongoing.
