The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported one woman was killed early Sunday morning at 5:50 am in a Myrtle Beach car accident. 20-year-old Erin Matthews was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe north on Highway 31 near the overpass with Robert Edge Parkway when she ran off the side of the road and swiped a structure. She then overcorrected and ran off the left side of the road and struck a concrete barrier. The car overturned and because she was not wearing a seat belt was ejected from the car. She was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Police investigated the accident to determine the exact cause.
