Midlands Man Dies After Car Hits Telephone Pole

A Gaston man is dead after an accident Saturday afternoon in Lexington County. According to reports, Larry Lenton McCroan, 53, was driving a 2002 GMC Sonoma north on Fish Hatchery Road in Pelion when he lost control of this vehicle and went off the road. His car struck a telephone pole, and even though he was wearing a seat belt, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner's Office are continuing the investigate the accident.
