Bill Henry Bufkin, Jr. 30, of Marion died after the four-wheeler he was riding flipped over on Gilchrist Road in Mullins. The accident took place shortly after 3 pm on Saturday, April 10th. Bufkin died of head injuries he sustained in the accident.
Bufkin and his girlfriend were both riding the ATV. The accident was caused when Bufkin lost control of the vehicle after his hat flew off his head and he looked back to get it. The four-wheeler then overturned and landed on Bufkin's head. His girlfriend was thrown from the four-wheeler, but did not sustain any serious injuries and will be ok.
