Yesterday, two motorcycles were traveling down Highway 17 North when a pickup truck traveling south attempted to turn into a private drive in front of the motorcyclists.
The truck driver hit the men on the motorcycles and they were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center with severe injuries. Neither were wearing a helmet.
One of the men on a motorcycle died from injuries sustained in the crash and the at fault driver was cited with failure to yield the right of way.
Motorcycles will be more prevalent on the roads with the upcoming bike rallies and warm weather. Look out for those drivers and be aware of your surroundings. Motorcycle accidents can be deadly.
