On Wednesday, June 7, a three car accident occurred along the Ravenel Bridge in Charleston, South Carolina.
A Buick sedan broke down and stopped along Highway 17 on the Ravenel Bridge. A Mitsubishi then rear-ended the Buick.
While the Buick and Mitsubishi were parked after their accident, a Subaru rear-ended the Mitsubishi and crushed one of the occupants who was either walking or standing behind the car.
This hit also pushed the Mitsubishi back into the Buick.
The driver of the Buick was taken to St. Francis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The occupants of the Mitsubishi were taken to the trauma center at MUSC where the man who was crushed in the second accident later died from his injuries. He was 21-years-old and lived in Goose Creek.
Charleston Police Department closed the lanes for over three hours to map the collision.
