A Green Sea driver was killed early this morning in a one-car crash at the intersection of Green Sea Highway, S.C. 410 and S.C. 646, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The 35-year-old man, whose name won't be released until his family is notified, died about 5:30 a.m. when his car left the highway, authorities said. There were no passengers in the vehicle, and the man was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver was heading west on S.C. 410 when he drove his car off the right shoulder and overcorrected, running into a ditch off the left shoulder, said Cpl. Paul Brouthers. The car then flipped over, but the driver was not ejected, he said.
