A Gilbert man has been charged with felony DUI after killing a 6-year-old girl and injuring four others Sunday morning. 26-year-old Billy Hutto ran a red light at the intersection of Sunset Boukevard and Old Cherokee Road around 10:40 a.m. Sunday morning and slammed into the site of a minivan carrying a family of 6. The crash killed 6-year-old Emma Longstreet. Lexington police had previously charged Hutto with DUI and operating an uninsured vehicle in February 2009 after a breathalyzer showed his blood alcohol to be more than .16. The Highway Patrol's MAIT team is investigating the accident to reconstruct the crash and show the speed and force of impact of Hutto's Jeep when it struck the minivan on Sunday.
Hutto remains behind bars at the Lexington County Detention Center.
