A car accident that happened Wednesday afternoon in Columbia on I-20 killed an 11-month-old boy. The accident happened around 5 pm near the Two Notch Road exit when two vehicles travling eastbound collided with each other. According to reports, 11-mont-old Ayden Ferby was unrestrained in one of the vehicles and was thrown from it as a result of the accident. Ferby died at the scene of the accident. Another passenger from one of the cars was taken to the hospital with injuries. Sadly, police state that if Ferby had been properly restrained inside the car, his death would most likely have been avoided.

The SC Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident. It is also unclear whether any charges will be filed against the drivers.
