Recently, 46-year-old Zebulon Wright was arrested and charged with Felony DUI Involving Death and Reckless Homicide.
At 2:30am, Wright was driving down I-26 Eastbound when he struck a Ford Explorer, causing it to exit off the roadway. The Explorer was propelled over the guardrail which then ejected a 9-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Explorer.
She was taken to Trident Regional Medical Hospital where she passed away at 3:27am.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Dorchester County's Coroner's Office are still investigating the accident.
