Officials identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle accident Wednesday night on Seaboard Street. 39-year-old Joe Floyd Jr. died at the hospital from injuries he sustained in the accident. Floyd was a former Horry County deputy that had recently retired from the police force. Floyd was riding his motorcycle south on Seaboard Street from Highway 501 when he crossed the raised concrete divider and hit a Lincoln Navigator and then a Chevy Tahoe.  Witnesses say that he became airborne after hitting the divider; the accident remains under investigation.
