DUI Crash Kills Passenger in West Ashley

Two young men in the West Ashley area of Charleston, South Carolina were in a single car accident early Sunday morning.

The driver, Lorenzo Jaquane Baker, 23 years old, was charged with felony DUI resulting in death when the passenger in his car, Charles Cameron Cox, also 23, died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The accident happened on Ashley River Road around 1 A.M. this past Sunday, New Year's Day.

Police officers found a beer can on the driver's side floor board and an empty case of beer in the vehicle. Baker was arrested and had a bond hearing on Sunday.
