Recently, an accident near the Krispy Kreme in North Myrtle Beach blocked two lanes of traffic while the South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated the scene.
The accident involved a civilian, who was the at-fault driver, and an Horry County police officer. Whenever a county officer is involved in an accident, those involved must wait for SC Highway Patrol to arrive and determine what happened.
The officer was determined not to be at-fault and the at-fault driver was cited with failure to yield the right of way.
