The City of Myrtle Beach and Kangaroo Pouch, a local baby furniture store will be holding child car seat safety checks this Saturday. Child car seats prevent child injuries and fatalities in the event of a car accident, but are not as effective when improperly installed.

Child car seats and booster seats that are used incorrectly can lead to injury in the case of a motor vehicle crash. Parents are encouraged to make sure their child's car seat is installed properly. Child car seats reduce the risk of fatality in a car wreck by 71% for infants and 54% for children ages 1-4.

The car seat safety check will be held from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, July 31st in Myrtle Beach. The Kangaroo Pouch will be giving away free gifts.
