A Conway woman was killed in a boating accident in Winyah Bay after the boat she and her husband were fishing from became submerged in shallow water. The Coast Guard discovered the 18-foot vessel near Buoy 17 and the woman's husband was near the boat. He informed the rescuers that his wife had gone missing and was not wearing a life jacket. They retrieved her and she was taken to the Georgetown Station to await emergency services. The woman was 66-year-old Delores Jones. She drifted with the tide and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigators are still determining her exact cause of death.
