A Florida woman is dead after an auto accident on I-26 in Orangeburg county late Friday evening. The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. when a 1999 Nissan SUV lost control, went off the right side of the road and then overturned.
The 48-year-old driver was taken via ambulance to the hospital and the front seat passenger was airlifted to Palmetto Health Richland. Sadly, the back-seat passenger was pronouced dead at the scene. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the woman was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car during the accident.
The accidnet was investigated by the SCHP MAIT unit.
