On Highway 17, in the Socastee/Myrtle Beach area, near the Azalea Lakes community, a man was rear-ended at a low speed but with a solid impact. After the accident, EMS was called and it was determined the victim needed to visit the ER.
The man complained of severe neck and back pain and was recommended to see a physical therapist and complete therapy work. After several PT visits, he was referred to an orthopedist who recommended more physical therapy. He later needed steroid injections in his neck, and it was determined that his injury was a cervical sprain.
During his treatment, the victim contacted The Derrick Law Firm about his accident. He wanted to know what his rights were, and how he could get the at-fault party's insurance to pay for his medical bills.
Accident Attorney Kevin Mulet took over the case and did a thorough evaluation of his medical records and bills before demanding the full liability policy limits of $50,000. The insurance company responded and tendered the full amount for our client.
Unfortunately, there was no other insurance available like an Underinsured Motorist Insurance policy that can go toward high medical bills that were not covered by the liability policy.
All available insurance money was won for the client and he left The Derrick Law Firm a 5 Star review for their service.
