Insurance Companies Fight Bad Faith Penalties

Anderson Cooper 360 investigates how Allstate, State Farm and other insurance companies fight laws which punish them for acting in bad faith.  They spend millions of dollars to mislead the public in an effort not to be held accountable.  In the meantime, they make billions of dollars in profit.  This is part of a design to delay claims, deny claims and then defend claims in an effort to wear down victims and make them take less than the true value of their claims.  They buy commercial time to say they are "like a good neighbor" or have "good hands"  to get you to buy their insurance. Then do everything to reduce what they pay out.  First they delay and deny claims.  Secondly, they donate to legislators who will limit the damages they must pay and then they blast attorneys and victims in order to influence potential jurors.  When a state court judge ordered them to produce their "plan" on how to make more money, Allstate refused to turn it over and was held in contempt of court.
