Young Man Charged with Felony DUI After Hitting Cyclist

A young man from Atlantic Beach was driving down HWY 17 in North Myrtle Beach and hit a man on a bicycle around 2am. After hitting the cyclist, the driver continued to drive several blocks before walking back to where the man was hit.

At the scene, police gave the driver a sobriety test, and he was arrested for Felony DUI. The man on the bicycle died from multiple traumas.

The driver is now being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center and bond is set for $25,000.
