Woman Killed After Bicycle Struck By Truck

A Marion woman died Tuesday morning after she was struck by a truck from behind while riding her bicycle on Highway 76. Barbara Freeman was riding her 3-wheeled bicycle along the highway when the truck struck her and knocked her down the roadside. Marion County Coroner, Jerry Richardson said she was killed on impact. It is unknown if Freeman was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. She was not wearing one when the coroner examined her, but he did say that it could have come off at the time of impact.

The Highway Patrol's MAIT team was investigating this accident and it is still unclear if the driver of the truck will face any charges.
