Woman Dies in Crash Near Darlington Involving an ATV

A woman has died after a car accident in Darlington on Saturday that was caused by an ATV. The victim was identified as Mary Frances Williams, 54. She was driving a 1992 Geo car south on Society Hill Road around 5 pm just outside of the city limits when an ATV traveling east on Watkins Drive came into the intersection. Williams swerved to avoid the ATV and hit a pick-up truck head on. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.
The driver of the ATV, Stuart Berry, left the area of the accident but was later found. He is being charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. There were two children inside of Williams' car that survived the accident.
