Woman Accused of Hitting and Killing A S.C. Department of Transportation Worker

According to authorities, Misty Dawson, the woman accused of hitting and killing a S.C. DOT worker has been released after a judge set her bond at $25,000. She is charged with felony DUI resulting in death after she testified she took prescription medication for nausea and pain before leaving work sick on Wednesday morning.

The Greenville Police Department says that Dawson's vehicle exited from I-85 onto Laurens Road around 9:45 A.M. and struck 60-year-old Noah Lark. He is a South Carolina Department of Transportation worker and was conducting repairs in the roadway. The vehicle then struck the DOT truck that was on the side of the road. Lark died Wednesday afternoon from blunt force injuries sustained in the accident.

Dawson was also transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the wreck.
