Victim in Pawleys Island Car Accident Identified

A Sunday afternoon accident killed one man and injured another. According to the SC Highway Patrol, Donald Lacy, 74, was turing out of a shopping center onto Highway 17 around 2 pm when his car was struck by another vehile traveling northbound. The force of the accident caused Lacy's car to overturn. Lacy was taken to MUSC where he later died from his injuries. The passenger in his car was transported to Georgetown Hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle, a Mt. Pleasant man, and his passenger were both wearing their seatbelts and did not require medical attention.
The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
