Victim in Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Berkeley County Identified

The South Carolina Highway Patrol has identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle accident in Berkeley County late Wednesday night. 30-year-old Lonnie Lee Ewan collided with a vehicle on Treeland Drive. He was pronounced dead at the scene from head and body trauma. It was also determined that he was not wearing a helmet. The SC Highway Patrol has charged 20-year-old Shelbie Lynn Smith with felony DUI, open container, and simple possession of marijuana in the accident.  Her bond was set at $251,090.
