Victim Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Loris

The S.C. Highway patrol says that it is still investigating a deadly motorcycle accident that happened Monday evening in Loris, just off of Highway 9. The rider of a 1986 Harley was traveling south on Highway 9 when the rider struck the back of a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle around 7:00 P.M. One person died as a result of the crash. The victim was 54-year-old Robert Wayne Dew, aka "Johnny". The other motorcycle rider, 48-year-old Danny Dew, the nephew of Johnny Dew, was flown to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The highway patrol states that neither motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and they are continuing to investigate what caused the crash.
