Two People Dead After Wrecks in Sumter and Lexington Counties

A pair of accidents on Valentine's Day killed two men. The first accident happened at 11:15 am in Lexington County when 56-year-old James Ellis Yancey ran off of Highway 6 at Bethany Church Road and struck a utility pole. He was taken to the hospital but later died. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
The second accident happened in Sumter County at 11:54 am when a 76-year-old man ran off of Live Oak Road in Sumter and struck a tree. He was wearing a seat belt but died at the scene of the accident.
Both accidents remain under investigation by the police.
