Third Victim Of Hit-And-Run
Posted on Aug 18, 2010
A young woman was killed early Tuesday after a hit-and-run wreck in N. Myrtle Beach, authorities said. Corissa L. Irvin, 21, of New Hampshire died at the scene about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge. Authorities believe the woman was walking home from work.
Her death is the third in a month on the Grand Strand involving a vehicle and pedestrian.
As of Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made. Police are still looking for the vehicle that killed Irvin. The S.C. Hwy. Patrol is asking people to be on the lookout for a vehicle with front-end damage to the right side near the headlight, about 27 inches from the ground, with possible windshield damage.
Irvin was living in Windy Hill for the summer and working in Barefoot Landing.
A Russian exchange student was also killed in Myrtle Beach about 7 p.m. Thursday as she crossed the street at 21st Avenue North, police said. The 20-year-old was believed to be on her way to work at Broadway at the Beach. No charges have been filed in Delva Bondaeva's death.
A third victim, Steven Roberge, 33, was struck and killed July 23 by a truck while crossing U.S. 17 Business in Surfside Beach.
