Teenager Killed in Car Accident in Sumter

A 15 year old boy is dead in Sumter after a car accident Thursday morning. The SC Highway Patrol says that the accident occured at the intersection of Meadows Road and Highway 15 around 7:40 AM. According to reports, a car pulled onto Highway 15 off of Meadows Road into the path of an oncoming SUV. The SUV struck the car on the left side, killing the teenager, who was a passenger in the car. The driver was airlifted to Palmetto Health Richland. The driver of the SUV was not injured.
The police continue to investigate the accident.
