Teen Drives Wrong Way on I-26, Kills Woman

A Charleston teenager has been charged with felony DUI and reckless homicide after he drove his car the wrong way on I-26 and killed another woman. 19-year-old Samuel McCauley had his bond set Monday at over $100K after police say he drove his Nissan Maxima the wrong way on I-26 westbound just north of Coming Street near the Crosstown.

McCauley's car crashed into a Honda Civic driven by 72-year-old Eleanor Caperton. Both drivers were transported to MUSC with severe injuries and Caperton later died from her injuries. Both cars had heavy front end damage as a result of the crash.
