South Carolina Highway Patrol Officer Involved in Accident

South Carolina Highway Patrol officer Matt Anderson was involved in a car accident on Farrow Road in Columbia, on Tuesday March, 22.  He was traveling down Farrow Road towards I-77 when he spotted another motorist committing a violation.  He turned on his blue lights, made a u-turn, and crossed the median.  Police then state that an oncoming vehicle was traveling too fast for conditions and then hit the trooper's patrol car.

Both the patrol officer and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
