Saluda Man Dies After Car Accident

A 23-year-old Saluda county man is dead following a car accident in Aiken County on Saturday. Police say that the accident happened on Highway 191 in Aiken County. Marcus Gilchrist, 23, was traveling south when he crossed into the northbound lane, went off the side of the road, and struck a utility pole. Gilchrist was ejected from the car as it overturned. He was pronouced dead at the scene.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Coroner's office are investigating the accident and have stated that a toxicology report is still pending.
