Police Chase Results in Fatal Accident

The Charleston County Sherrif's Office said that 39-year-old James Brown died Saturday night after leading the police on a chase after failing to pull over for a traffic stop. Brown was speeding on southbound Highway 162 when he did not pull over for blue lights. He passed a car on a double yellow line, ran off the right side of the road, hit a ditch, and then crashed into a parked car. Brown was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
The SC Highway Patrol's MAIT team investigated the accident.
