Plane Spots Car Submerged in Retention Pond

The Horry County Coroner's office has identified the person found in a red Dodge truck submerged in a retention pond off of Dick Scobee Road on Sunday evening. According to authorities, William Long, 59, was found inside the truck. The truck was discovered after a call from a pilot who said he saw the truck submerged in the pond in a undeveloped subdivision off of Dick Scobee road and Ronald McNair Blvd.

An investigation continues into how the truck ended up in the pond and whether or not foul play was involved. It was unclear if Long was the driver or a passenger in the truck. An autopsy will be performed Monday.
