Pedestrian Hit and Killed By Car on Highway 22

A man was struck and killed Saturday night on Highway 22 while walking down the road. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says that Henry Ford, 51, was hit at 9:17 p.m. by a 2005 Ford Taurus. He was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. He was walking in the left lane of Highway 22 near the intersection of Highway 90 when he was hit. He was wearing dark clothing which made it difficult for the driver to see him. The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
