Overturned Car Slowed Traffic on Highway 501

On Friday March 4, 2011 two cars collided on Highway 501 at the Entrance to the Burning Ridge Golf Course.

Sony Collins, spokesman for the Highway Patrol said that the accident occured when the driver of an SUV made a left hand turn into Burning Ridge in front of a car heading toward Myrtle Beach on Highway 501. The SUV then flipped after hitting the other car.

Both Drivers were taken to an area hospital, however, Collins said that their injuries did not appear to be life threatening. There is no word on whether charges will be filed.
